A 'picturesque' Match

Pre season friendly vs Brockham BadBadgers

The start of the 2017 Athletic season saw a Moor Mead side wind its way to the picturesque surroundings of Brockham Badgers. Nestled beneath Box Hill, the ground would surely be in the top 3 of most picturesque grounds in the league. Coach King seemingly did a trek up Box Hill as he sourced 3 cups of tea for the rest of the coaching staff. Much appreciated.

Sporting the new fluoro Nike kit, the boys looked smart and played smart. Toby, in the striking role, started very brightly seizing on a bit of indecision at the back and finishing clinically.

Coach Hayes requests/ demands to pass the ball on the ground rather than lump it were met with some very good inter passing. Nathan, in particular, showing good vision and calmness. Fred, being used in a central midfield role, showed great touch and was a constant goal threat with his powerful right boot.

But perhaps special mention to young Taylor, a year 4 student showing great skills and distribution. Its very encouraging that a player of his pedigree (having played at Fulham and Chelsea academy) is willing to join a local team made up of a small handful of Twickenham schools. The passing continued as the game progressed. Well done Alex, Paddy and Toby for good stints in goal.

Thanks to Brockham for hosting the fixture.
