The Dinos Coaches’ Great Shed Sweep

With the new season just around the corner, the Moor Mead FC Dinos coaches decided it was time for a little pre-season magic. Not tactics. Not fitness. Not even a new signing. A proper clear-out of the sheds! Anthony, Baptiste, Ben and Mike rolled up their sleeves, with their kids and partners joining in too. Nets were untangled, footballs rounded up, bibs folded, cones stacked and years’ worth of footballing chaos slowly turned into something resembling an actual equipment store. There was plenty of sweeping, lifting, sorting, laughing and the occasional “Who on earth left THAT in here?” And then came the important bit. Because there’s something bigger than simply having a tidy shed. If you don’t have community spirit, you don’t have a club. Football clubs aren’t built just on Saturdays and match results. They’re built by people giving up their time, helping each other out, bringing their kids along, mucking in and doing the jobs that nobody necessarily notices. And if it’s good enough for the All Blacks to sweep the sheds after a game, then surely it’s good enough for the Dinos coaches to sweep them before the season starts! 🧹🦖⚽ After all the hard work, the shed was looking fantastic. Everyone stood back proudly. Everyone except Mike… Because just as the last cone was put away and the final sweep was finished, Mike wandered in, stretched out his arms and basically claimed the whole operation as his own. “Job done, lads!” Mike takes the glory. 😂 But jokes aside, a massive well done to Anthony, Baptiste, Ben and Mike, and especially to all their kids and partners who got stuck in and helped make it happen. That’s what being part of a club is all about. Community. Teamwork. Giving something back. And that’s why the Dinos are more than just a football team. They’re a club. 🦖❤️⚽
